    While everyone else was eating turkey and growing increasingly frustrated with their loved-ones, NVIDIA decided to quietly set their latest GPU free.  The NVIDIA GeForce 310 is the first GPU in the company’s 300-series line-up, and replaces the existing GeForce 210 as an entry-level chipset for undemanding users hoping to replace integrated graphics in their machines.

    That given, expectations for the GeForce 310 aren’t especially high.  Still, there are a fair few good reasons why you should consider it: the 589MHz processor is paired with 512MB of 500MHz DDR2 memory, and there are DisplayPort, DVI and VGA ports with the first two easily converted to HDMI with a simple adapter.  An internal input means you can also inject audio into the HDMI signal.

Intel X25-M and X18-M SSDs get

       Intel X25-M and X18-M SSDs were not happy when they learned that the firmware update that promised to increase write speeds actually killed Windows 7 installations. Intel removed the firmware update that added support for TRIM shortly after the reports started coming in of the Windows 7 issue.
 
     The Tech Report reports that Intel has now issued a fixed the firmware for the SSDs that adds TRIM support back in for the drives without causing the data corruption that was seen the first time around. The new firmware is version 22CV102HD and is available for download now.

Revert and Change to XP Classic Logon Screen on Windows 7 or Vista

       Windows 7 and Windows Vista includes a Welcome screen as the default logon screen, which will be displayed on boot up for system where the individual user has its user account password-protected, or system with multiple local or network user accounts. In Welcome screen, the list of user account names or IDs or the user name of last logged in account is displayed for easy selection.

Remove not necessary programs which are running during start-ups by launching the System Configuration Utility from Run – Msconfig – Tab Startup. Microsoft Surface: a touch screen table

    Microsoft has announced the public release of it's new Surface computer - essentially a table-based touchscreen.
